Fabulous Fall Recipes

First and foremost, if you don't already know about my obsession with taking pictures of food and drinks read this post, which birthed my Food For Thought category:)

Now, I don't know about you, but when I think of Fall Recipes, I immediately think of pumpkin, butternut squash, spices, and warm comfort foods...

Giada de Laurentiis has earned her title as a favorite source for most of my saved recipes -- so as the weather starts to get a little cooler, I strongly suggest trying her recipes such as the Butternut Squash Soup with a Fontina Cheese Crostini -- it is mind-blowing yummy!!

Here are a few more of my favorites that I will definitely be making soon, and encourage you to try as well!

Minestrone means “big soup”, and is the most popular Italian soup since it originated in Northern Italy. A well-made minestrone is thick and hearty, and although you may want to actually travel to beautiful Italy for a bowl (or two, or three), Giada's Winter Minestrone recipe made the cut in my household and is a must have even in the early Fall! Soup is simple, quick, and ohhhh so delicioso!

The first time I ever made Butternut Squash Lasagna was a few Autumn's ago while living in California. It just started to get chilly, and it was maybe two weeks after I finished the Master Cleanser. My senses were beyond keen, and this tasted uhh-mazing as each bite seemed to lusciously melt in my mouth. ..

Mmmm, yummy comfort food on a chilly night... The goat cheese melts into the pasta and forms this ridiculously good creamy sauce -- I can't wait to make this again with Maui's very own and proud Surfing Goat Dairy farm up in Kula, which I briefly boasted about in this post.

Penne with Butternut Squash & Goat Cheese

My Southern M.A.N. absolutely LOVES macaroni and cheese and couples this comfort food with his entrees as often as possible. Giada has A LOT of fabulous Mac 'N Cheese recipes to choose from, and these would be dangerously delectable for pupus (appetizers) and an instant fave at any gathering!

I could REALLY go for a slice of this amazing Halloween Spice Cake right about now... it would go perfectly with my giant cup of coffee... yum!
