Good Morning Friends!

The other day I realized I have a VERY special suitcase in my closet and have been going through its contents ever since... It feels like it is close to 100lbs filled with my Mom's family memories all captured on old film...

My obsessions in life have mainly included three things:

1) Pictures
2) Cards, and
3) Stickers

The pictures in this precious suitcase are filled with priceless photos of my Mom's parents--my Grandma and Grandpa--as well as the life they created together, having my Mom and her sister--my only "blood relative Auntie."

To me, photos are so special because they literally capture a moment in time... you get to keep [it] forever.

So..

When my precious Grandma passed away ten years ago (by the way, time doesn't really heal wounds as deep as losing a closed loved one) that knot, and empty feeling in the pit of my stomach is eased ever so slightly when gazing at these photos of the life she lived.

I plan on posting a VERY special post tomorrow honoring my Mom for Mother's day.. This will be the most personal post I published to-date, filled with photos, and I really hope you all enjoy getting to know the woman who has made me the woman I am today. She is my best friend, and I am so excited to brag about her:)

Right now though.. I have a date with the ocean! I absolutely love beginning my days doing what I love most: Paddling!

I hope you all have a FABULOUS Saturday where ever you may be, what ever you may be doing, and who ever you may be with:)

Questions...

Do you notice some bloggers get 20+ comments on their posts?
I have seriously noticed this..

If you had to pick ONE SONG for today, what song would it be?
Awake and Alive by Skillet!! It's currently on repeat..

What is your preferred post workout recovery drink/meal?
After an awesome morning work out session (translation: hardcore lifting and 30+ minutes cardio) I would recover with what I call the "Green Drink" (not to be confused with the Green Monster) which includes: 20 oz of green tea (or water) handful of broccoli (stems included), 1 scoop protein, 1 scoop glucose-amine, 1 scoop flax-seed (grounded, golden), 1 scoop "Nature Source" green enzymes, and 1 scoop super greens...My carb was usually  a 1/4 cup steal cut oat meal--which I eventually just added into the drink! Now I'm struggling with this because I ran out of EVERYTHING and haven't replaced my supply..

Today I pick the song "Rolling in the Deep" by Adele basically because it kept me going while on my 8 miler. I think I listened to that song about 6 or 7 times!

I freakin' LOVE that song! Isn't it great how certain songs (on repeat) can get you through a few miles w/o even realizing it? Awesome job today by the way--loved your "Running to Refuel" post:)
