May Day is Lei Day!
Aloha Everyone!
I just wanted to “Spread the Aloha…” and wish you all a very wonderful Lei Day; from my home to yours… today marks the 84th Annual Lei Day Celebration—May Day is Lei Day, enjoy it!! =)
The first Lei Day was held on May 1, 1928, and everyone in Hawai’i was encouraged to wear lei. Across the eight Sandwich Islands festivities are held with Hula, Music, Lei Making demonstrations and exhibits, contests etc. Garlands of Maile, Plumeria, Pikake, Tuberose, and other fragrant flowers flutter in the wind from its extended hand.
In 1929, Lei Day was made an official holiday in the territory, a tradition which was interrupted only during the years of WWII, and which the traditional celebration continues today.

I hope you all had a beautiful May 1st, and that the rest of your month is just as beautiful. I'm particularly excited that it's May, since the bf is finally coming back to visit after about five months!!
