Beastly

There are two very important events today!

Both events are mentally and physically grueling and will test your stamina. Both events are packed with the-best-of-the-best but there can only be one winner...

This morning's 2011 HCRA State Championship will be kicked off with Opening Ceremonies at Hanakao’o (Canoe) Beach in Lahaina promptly at 8:15AM, at 8:30AM the Exhibition Race will be open to cancer survivors, and the Official Races will start at 9AM...

If you plan on coming to this rare and uhh-mazzing event please note that there will be no parking at Hanakao’o (Canoe) Beach! You will have to park at the Civic Center and there will be three shuttle services from 6AM through 6:30PM.

Recently added One Inity to open for Maoli at Lulu's Lahaina 8pm
Lahaina is going to be pumping tonight! Get your naps in or sack up and put your big girl/boy pants on because our small town population is temporarily doubled--so if you were to ever go out, tonight is the night!

----

The Spartan Beast sounds pretty epic as well.. It's a 10-12 mile Obstacle Race from Hell--and if you have done any race anywhere in the world: whether a mud run, fun run, olympic run, bike race, death march or any kind of event claiming to be the "toughest race on the planet" apparently you will be happy to know that this is where it ends because.."THIS IS THE SPARTAN BEAST"...where many will arrive, but few will leave!

I think the best part about this race is the fact there is a WEDDING scheduled immediately post race at 4PM where the "water element" (a.k.a. LAKE!) is supposed to be their beautiful backdrop... If the 500+ people who have signed up haven't finished this portion of the race by then, they are going to be forced to re-route the stragglers around the lake--which is probably a good idea if they haven't finished by then, seeing as they might drown!

----

Even though I'm ecstatic to be home and experience the HCRA State Races.. I wish the dates didn't conflict and I could witness this debacle my boyfriend and his bro will be attempting. I am really looking forward to seeing pictures and hearing about it. Not to mention, this race seems super organized and packed with fun events the entire weekend. Good choice, boys!
