Day 3 - Part I

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

As you know from this post the bf and I ate ourselves into a food-coma resulting in a very relaxing Sunday, which is a perfect way to spend a Sunday, if you ask me!

If you read my Happy Independence Day post, you also know that Vegas celebrates the 4th of July on the 3rd of July... (Don't ask me--I think that's weird)!!

You must know... I had this magnifique idea of eating at one of my all-time favorite restaurants in Vegas, on the Strip... Mon Ami Gabi (My Friend, Gabi) a magnifique French Bistro I've been going to for at least a decade. It's located of course at The Paris, and offers inside and outside dining. There always seems to be an hour wait or more for outside, and I wanted to be front and center on the patio to "WOW" my Man on our premature 4th of July celebration... Check in around 7PM, get seated around 8PM, enjoy the amazing fireworks around 9PM... magnifique, perfecto, fabulous plan! Right?

Nope. Didn't happen. And here's why...

A desert-style thunderstorm and monsoon came rolling in around 6:30PM and literally put a damper on our plans. I was so bummed merely because the best part of sitting on the patio at Mon Ami Gabi, is being front and center to the very beautiful Bellagio Fountains...

Once the sun goes down, this performance is every 15 minutes, and it is just breathtaking! I can never get enough of the Bellagio Fountains!

I really did not want to sit inside and thankfully had a back-up plan. We swiveled in our tracks redirecting our path straight to the Eiffel Tower Restaurant... I had no idea if they accepted walk-ins, especially on this crazy-packed holiday weekend, but we winged it.

As we walked up, the glass elevator was just about full, but there was enough room for us to slip in. We were whisked up 11 floors and the doors opened into the lively and very beautiful kitchen. We chuckled a little as we were the first to get escorted to the dining room since we were the last to get in the elevator... we crossed our fingers and hoped for the best.

As we made our way around to the maître d’ we were struck by the panoramic views of Las Vegas... It was so beautiful, we were so excited when we were immediately seated at a beautiful table along the window overlooking all the important areas for this special evening.

The wine list book was uhh-mazing and I almost ordered a nice bottle, but the bf is new to wine, so I thought we could share a glass of white and a glass of red... test out his palate:)

Our feast began with a chilled asparagus soup intermezzo and a selection of breads to choose from...

I forgot to take pictures of the amazing bread, but I chose slices of sourdough and rustic... Mmm!

The sweet boyfriend ordered the Le Pavé de Saumon de l' Atlantique, Poireaux Braisées, Beurre Pinot Noir or the Slow Roasted Filet of Atlantic Salmon over Pinot Noir Sauce and Braised Leeks for his entrée...

He said it tasted magnifique!! I could only manage a couple bites of it (and it was indeed magnifique!!), because I was too busy devouring this...

L’Entrecôte du Midwest à la Moelle, Jus au Cabernet or Aged New York Steak with a Cabernet Reduction... It was definitely one of the best steaks I've had in a long time... The bf was on cloud 9 when I couldn't finish it--and I quote; "This is the best steak I've ever had in my entire life!"

We also ordered a couple side dishes, which complimented our entrées perfectly...

Sautéed Asparagus w/Parmesan & Classic Potato Gratin
We were having such an amazing, romantic night--the weather had cleared up, the restaurant had a great vibe, the wait staff was intuitive, and the food was delicious! We couldn't believe how everything fell into place and were so thankful to spend this time together.

Before we knew it, it was after 9PM and the fireworks hadn't made it to center stage, yet. We were still relaxing, enjoying our dining experience, and after letting dinner settle we ordered a soufflé...

I can honestly say I've never had a soufflé like this--it was so light, fluffy, and the inside tasted like perfectly whipped mousse with just the right amount of creamy thickness to it. This delicious dessert was completely gone within 3 minutes!

We weren't sure at this point if we should cash out or stay--so while we figured it out, I ordered a phenomenal non-fat cappuccino..

The fireworks were turning out to be a lost cause, so we decided to cash-out. Before saying au revoir, we were presented an assortment of treats...

They were so delicious! I still can't believe we had room for even these small bites after all the food we had consumed this day!

On our way out we went to the restroom to freshen up before making our next move. We talked about ending our night watching the Bellagio Fountains if all else failed.

When I came out, our Server rushed over to me all excited, explaining that the lights over at Caesars Palace had been turned off, and the fireworks would most likely follow soon after... So we headed back to our table and sure enough, a few minutes later we watched about 20 minutes of beautiful fireworks and an epic finale!

We decided to take a stroll since we didn't want the evening to end quite yet and ended up at the Bellagio Fountains... They are so beautiful! We watched about three shows, and then called it a night!

Au revoir, for now! Visit again tomorrow and find out about my $18K Louis Vuitton Charm Bracelet!! ;)

Sounds like a perfect night to me! The waiter was on point and that makes for all the difference sometimes. Everything looks so yummy especially the steak!
