I used to include strength training 3-4 times a week, but that has slipped BIG TIME and now I'm happy if I get in my push-ups and sit-ups each week. After I run this marathon in a month I think I want to refocus a little bit!Vanessa @ Gourmet Runnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06927786555693446088noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8882537520352534551.post-37978679046749188062011-10-14T06:04:42.919-07:002011-10-14T06:04:42.919-07:00Abdominal exercise plus a good, flat stomach is to...Abdominal exercise plus a good, flat stomach is to differ your workouts, and find out that you simply do not need to have a gym membership, or even be in your workout clothes to do very simple exercises that produce results.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8882537520352534551.post-79446185188034714492011-10-13T16:28:08.422-07:002011-10-13T16:28:08.422-07:00Very good post! I was successful and lost about 30 pounds!

When I started running, the "harmony" was reversed and I was doing more cardio than strength training. But learned from many other bloggers out there that strength training is very important to fitness in general- which was the whole point of me starting a running plan.Vanessahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17554832916785604228noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8882537520352534551.post-8261074603713646942011-10-13T11:35:15.082-07:002011-10-13T11:35:15.082-07:00I love the swiss-ball pike - never seen that….alth...I love the swiss-ball pike - never seen that….although I also envision one or two embarrassing falls before I master the balance on that one :)

I try to mix it up (key word being try) and sometimes do better than other times. For me, I have to make myself do weights, but if I do, I enjoy it and I enjoy the results.Beth @ RUNNING around my kitchenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15613775976394277920noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8882537520352534551.post-65192784722544287212011-10-13T08:43:27.320-07:002011-10-13T08:43:27.320-07:00Wym, its Bodyrock.tv!

I would two 2 hours of cardio a day, every day and nothing else. Then I switched to a cardio machine + class junkie and took spin classes like it was my job. I finally realized the importance of weight training and try to do it 3-4 times a week! It is really essential in changing body composition. Massive amounts of cardio just made me a skinnier version of myself...whereas lifting creates more of a lean and sculpted physique. Way more attractive in my opinion! I still have ways to go though!

Just give away mac nuts in different flavours on a weekly basis :)Christina @ The Athletarianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07328839478273608532noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8882537520352534551.post-83784096353670249422011-10-13T06:37:32.457-07:002011-10-13T06:37:32.457-07:00Have you checked out rockbody.tv? I don't belong to a gym so interval training with a medicine ball is awesome and user friendly.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12394694667696215165noreply@blogger.com
